Bulls 98, Wizards 79

Belief in Bogans: Some people might see shooting guard Keith Bogans as the weak link in the starting lineup, but he came alive with a season-high 17 points on Tuesday. In the past two games, Bogans is 8-for-17 from 3-point range.

Out of action: The Bulls played without Joakim Noah (illness), in addition to Carlos Boozer (sprained ankle) missing his third straight game. The Wizards had Nick Young, Rashard Lewis, Josh Howard and Andray Blatche on the shelf, but got 12 blocks from center JaVale McGee and 27 points from rookie Jordan Crawford.

On top of the East: This victory sent the Bulls into sole possession of first place in the Eastern Conference, a half-game ahead of Boston. They play at New Jersey on Thursday, though, and the Nets just knocked off the Celtics to make this step possible.
