Judges grade Reinhart's performance as just OK

Maybe “American Idol” voters will feel bad about Haley Reinhart's lipstick mishap and vote for her anyway.

On a night when most of the other finalists turned in really strong performances, Reinhart was mostly given a shrug from the judges.

Then to makes matters worse, Ryan Seacrest interrupted their feedback to help Reinhart wipe off lipstick on her chin. She ended up taking his tissue, nervously wiping her face and looking into the camera and saying “Is that OK?”

On Wednesday, the Idol finalists picked a song that was released the year they were born. Reinhart, 20, picked Whitney Houston's “I'm your Baby Tonight.”

Randy Jackson said he was a little confused after Reinhart's performance.

“I'm not sure you're sure who you are,” he said. “The vocals were OK. It wasn't a great performance.”

Steven Tyler told Reinhart to concentrate on the blues, like her mom. Before she sang, Reinhart's parents, Patti and Harry, talked about how their daughter loved to sing growing up. The Reinharts have been in a band together, Midnight, since the late 1970s.

“I have no idea where I got my musical talent from,” Reinhart joked after the parents spoke on video. “Just kidding, it's from my parents. I respect them so much for doing what they love.” One of the final 12 Idol contestants will be voted off at 8 p.m. tonight on Fox.
