Gurnee park board attendance policy
Gurnee Park District commissioners Tuesday night voted 5-0 in favor of an official attendance policy. Under the new rule, the park board could declare a seat vacant if a commissioner misses three consecutive meetings or six meetings in 12 months. Park officials said there haven’t been any attendance problems among the five elected commissioners, but it’s a good idea to have the policy. Discussion about having the attendance policy occurred at a park board meeting last month. Commissioner James Goshorn said the policy is an appropriate step that supports the governance the park board is responsible for and ultimately protects the community.
