Green better suited to Arlington Hts. board

I am stunned at the Daily Herald's recommendation for the Arlington Heights Village Board.

The Herald recommends Mike Sidor because he regularly attends Village Board meetings as an audience member and is an active listener? Does Mike Sidor have any experience in local politics? What specific expertise or skills would he bring to the board?

Bruce Green has been a member of the plan commission for 12 years and is currently the chairman. He is an architect and as such has expertise in the zoning ordinances and building requirements of our village. Bruce has worked closely with the current village board as all projects go through the plan commission prior to being presented to the Board for final approval. And yes, he too, is an active listener.

The Herald deems Bruce Green to be “well qualified.” I'd say he is the better qualified candidate for the board vacancy. Bruce Green has the experience our village needs. Mike Sidor does not.
