LaHood to deliver Bradley commencement

PEORIA, Ill. — Bradley University says U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood will deliver the commencement speech during the school's spring graduation ceremony on May 14.

University President Joanne Glasser said Wednesday that Bradley always tries to bring in speakers of national stature. In this case, it is also calling on a Bradley graduate. LaHood was a member of the class of 1971.

LaHood has been Transportation secretary since January 2009. He also was a Republican congressman representing the Peoria area for 14 years.

LaHood has also served on Bradley's board of trustees.
