Hearing continued in Des Plaines meth lab case

A court hearing for a Des Plaines man accused of running a methamphetamine lab in his basement has been continued to March 17.

Matthew A. Weber-Mixon, 26, of the 300 block of Oxford Road, is charged with four counts each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine manufacturing materials and using the property to produce the drug in his basement.

The hearing will be held at 9 a.m. in room 105 of the Cook County courthouse in Skokie.

Police arrested Weber-Mixon on Jan. 26, after they say officers serving a search warrant on the residence discovered what they described as “suspicious items.” A Level 3 hazardous materials situation was called at the home as police, firefighters and hazmat crews removed materials from the basement.
