Grayslake burglary alert

Grayslake police announced Thursday that five home burglaries have occurred in about the past six weeks in the village. Police said the burglaries have occurred between 5 and 6 a.m., and all have been at homes with unlocked doors. Several neighborhoods have been hit, authorities said, but no geographic pattern is apparent. The homes have been near bicycle paths or secluded wooded areas. Grayslake police are urging residents to lock their doors to homes and garages.
