Chicago man pleads not guilty in daughter's death
CHICAGO — A Chicago man charged in the 2008 stabbing death of his 9-year-old daughter has pleaded not guilty.
Forty-two-year-old Richard Lyons entered the plea Wednesday in the killing of his daughter, Mya. Lyons was denied bond in January. Prosecutors accuse him of stabbing the girl 30 times. Lyons' attorney has said his client is innocent.
Relatives say Mya lived most of the year with her mother in suburban Addison, but visited frequently with her father and stepmother in Chicago.
