Residents can vote for favorite newsletter name, design

The City of Naperville encourages all residents to view and vote for their favorite name and nameplate design that was submitted as part of the city's resident newsletter design contest. From now through Wednesday, March 16 at 11:59 p.m., the public can vote for their favorite design at www.naperville.il.us/newslettercontest.aspx.

Through March 1, aspiring artists and designers submitted a name and corresponding nameplate that visually described the concept of the city's newsletter, which is keeping the community connected by sharing important city news, events and initiatives and providing access and transparency to government processes.

The rebranding and redesign of the city's newsletter coincides with a major change residents will see in May when the newsletter transitions to a one-page insert that is included in residents and businesses' monthly utility bills. For e-Bill customers, an electronic copy of the newsletter will be sent to them at the e-mail address they have provided to the city. A copy of the newsletter will continue to be posted on the city's website. Previously, the newsletter known as Bridges was mailed four times per years to homes and businesses.

Residents should visit www.naperville.il.us/newslettercontest.aspx to view images of all the entries. Voters will be asked to remember the number of the entry they prefer and vote by entering that number into a survey field. If you do not have a computer at home, please remember that public computers are available at locations such as the Naperville Public Library.

Mayor A. George Pradel and City Council members will select a winning name/nameplate design from the 10 that receive the most online votes. The winning artist will be publicly recognized at an upcoming City Council meeting.
