Wagener, Glogovsky, Thomas for Green Oaks village board

By The Daily Herald Editorial Board

Three incumbents and one challenger are running for the Green Oaks village board, and they are all candidates with strong qualifications.

Current board members John Wagener, Richard Glogovsky and Patricia Thomas are experienced and knowledgeable about the issues facing the village. Their focus on developing the local business base and continuing to avoid municipal taxes is the right approach for the village, and they are endorsed.

Challenger Dan Sugrue is fresh off his second attempt to be elected 59th District state representative — so fresh, his website still lists him as running for state representative. While he agrees with the governing approach of the current board, we’d like to see more village-specific involvement on his resume to assure us of his commitment to working in village government.
