Questions about candidate's votes

During a Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation meeting, Councilman Douglas Krause mentioned that his voting record being the biggest difference between himself and Mayor George Pradel and Councilman Kenn Miller. Councilman Krause said at different parts during the night that Councilman Miller and Mayor Pradel vote the same 90 percent of the time and then he said later that they vote the same 80 percent of the time.

Councilman Krause, I looked for the votes you did not vote the same way as the other candidates and here are some examples from your website:

• You voted against pedestrian safety by voting against sidewalks on June 3, 2008 and again on Nov. 3, 2010.

• You voted against city safety by voting no to a new fire marshall on Dec. 1, 2009 and a new Fire Station 10 on Sept. 2, 2008.

• You voted for traffic and against commuters when you voted no to the Park and Ride Facilities on April 7.

I also noticed that you do not disclose your entire voting record on your website. I found some gaps on Dec. 4, 2007 when you voted with Mayor Pradel and Councilman Miller for censuring Councilman Furstenau and you voted against Mayor Pradel and Councilman Miller when you voted no regarding the Dignity and Standards of the City Council.

One last vote I was not able to find but that is mentioned on your website is that you were the only candidate for mayor voting no to ex-City Manager Peter Burchard's severance package, but you voted yes on this severance 10 years earlier when you voted yes to the contract to hire Mr. Burchard. So, were you in favor of the severance before you were against it?

Councilman, I am sorry to say but your goal of transparency has left me confused.
