Wind moratorium on agenda
The Libertyville village board on Tuesday will consider extending a moratorium on wind turbines for another six months. The moratorium originally was enacted in the summer of 2009, just months after a 120-foot turbine was installed at Aldridge Electric headquarters on Rockland Road. Residents say the turbine has disrupted their lives and are pursuing the matter in court. Meanwhile, the village is considering changes to the ordinance and has been awaiting a decision by the Lake County Board regarding a model ordinance for wind turbines. Village staff has recommended the moratorium be renewed.
The meeting starts at 8 p.m. at the village hall, 118 W. Cook Ave.
