Meet Dundee area candidates at forums
The Dundee-Rutland committee of the Elgin Area League of Women Voters has scheduled several candidate meetings in the Dundee Township area for candidates who are seeking office in the April 5 election.
Invitations have been sent to those candidates who are running for a seat on the Community Unit District 300 board and those who are seeking office on the Community College District 509 board to participate in a candidate meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 12, in the meeting room of the Senior Center at the Dundee Township Park District Building, 655 Barrington Ave., Carpentersville.
On Tuesday, March 15, candidates have been invited to a forum for candidates for the East Dundee village board at the East Dundee village hall at 7 p.m. Candidates for the Carpentersville village board are invited to join in a candidates' night Wednesday, March 16, at the Carpentersville village hall.
On Thursday, March 17, candidates for the Gilberts village board have been invited to attend a meeting at 7 p.m. at the Eagles Club, off Tyrell Road in Gilberts.
At each of these meetings, the candidates will be asked to speak briefly about themselves and the reasons for their candidacy. Written questions will be collected from the audience for the candidates to answer. An opportunity will be given each candidate to make a closing statement.
The League of Women Voters seeks to inform the voting public so that they can make a knowledgeable decision when they go to the voting booth. The League is a nonpartisan group interested in political issues. It does not support individual candidates.
