Grayslake North's Detweiler shoots into final four

Grayslake North freshman Kendall Detweiler came up big downstate Friday.

The 5-foot-3 guard advanced to the final four in the Class 3A Country Financial Three-Point Showdown at Illinois State University's Redbird Arena in Normal.

Detweiler made 10 shots in the first round to secure her advancement. In the finals, she sank 8 shots to tie for second with Salem senior Kirstie Owen.

Illiana Christian senior Erinn Behn won with 10 made 3-pointers. Hampshire senior Jessie Van Dorin sank 7 shots in the final round.

Grayslake Central junior Claire Brennan hit 5 shots.

In the Class 4A competition, Libertyville's Valerie Van Roeyen and Olivia Wilcox each made 6 shots, but did not advance to the finals.
