No Cadillac health plan here

Thank you, Larry Maurer, for your letter on Feb. 25 on free health insurance for state retirees. Of course I agree they should help pay something toward this important benefit. I thought some numbers, however, would demonstrate how others are paying out of their retirement monthly checks. Out of a $570.34 pension, I pay $280 for a medical deduction which is just over 49 percent of my pension. And this is over and above what I pay for for Medicare health benefits.
