I-88 crash closes 2 lanes, 2 injured

Two drivers sustained minor injuries after a hit-and run crash on Interstate 88 during the Friday afternoon rush.

An unknown vehicle rear ended a red Pontiac Trans Am, which spun out of control and collided with a white GMC SUV at 4:45 p.m. in the eastbound lanes near the Naperville Road exit, said Sgt. Julio Serrano of the Illinois State Police.

The vehicle causing the crash left the scene before witnesses were able to get a description or license plate number, he said.

The injured drivers — one male and one female — were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove after complaining of pain.

Two lanes were closed for about an hour during accident cleanup.
