Class 3A Sycamore regional final

No. 3 Aurora Central Catholic (14-13) vs. No. 1 Rochelle (19-11)

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Outlook: On Wednesday, Aurora Central denied Rochelle a rematch of the Northern Illinois Big 12 East title game it lost to Kaneland a week ago today. One day after Rochelle dispatched Sycamore 62-38, the Chargers beat Kaneland 63-53. ACC is tested-tough, eight of its losses to 4A schools with its only Suburban Christian Conference Gold losses coming against 26-1 Wheaton Academy. Guys like Ryan Harreld and blockmaster Robert DeMyers who scored 22 and 11 points, respectively, against Kaneland won't back down. Harreld, Joe Medgyesi and Joey McEachern must handle Rochelle's full-court pressure work it up-tempo. Rochelle offers shooter Matt Rosenwinkel and David Newton, who at 6-foot-6 can score at the arc or the post.
