Fashion, food and fun in Naperville
It’s that time of year when you look at what’s left of the snow and the leafless trees and the dull gray sky and say “Yuck.”
It’s that time of year when you can’t help but think about daffodils and robins and all the other trappings of spring.
The folks at the Downtown Naperville Alliance can feel your anticipation, which is why they made plans for a three-day Spring Girls Weekend that opened Thursday in downtown Naperville and continues through Saturday.
Organizers say they’re stressing the three Fs — fashion, food and fun — with a variety events that include fashion shows, spa visits and, yes, sales.
The highlights of the weekend’s festivities are the spring fashion extravaganzas scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. today at Catch 35, 35 S. Washington St., and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Sullivans, 244 S. Main St.
Ellen Wojtowicz of the alliance was one of those making preparations Thursday and she said she couldn’t wait to get the festivities started.
After the fashion shows, she said, “people can shop and dine and experience everything in downtown Naperville.”
Including, one hopes, a little touch of spring.
