No. 9 Hinsdale South (17-10) vs. No. 1 Simeon (24-2)

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Outlook: If the Hornets win their first regional title since 1999, they'll definitely earn it. They're faced with the defending 4A champions, a team that was No. 1 in the state until losses to Whitney Young and Benet late in the regular season. Hinsdale South needs another big game from juniors Phil George, who scored a game-high 22 points in Wednesday's 76-55 win over Marist, and 6-foot-8 Brock Benson. A consistent double-double performer, Benson needs to avoid foul trouble against the athletic Wolverines. Keeping Simeon from dominating the offensive glass — especially standout sophomore Jabari Parker — is critical.
