Warren turns away Highland Park's challenge

At Wheeling, Warren, the top seed in the Class 4A Barrington sectional, rallied in the fourth quarter to stop Highland Park 52-42 and earn a spot in Friday's 7:30 p.m. regional final.

The Blue Devils (26-3) will play the winner of today's game between No. 8 Hersey and No. 9 St. Viator.

Warren outscored Highland Park 22-7 in the fourth after trailing most of the night.

Warren got double-doubles from Darius Paul (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Jeremiah Jackson (11 points, 11 rebounds).

Jake Norcia led Highland Park with 14 points.

North Chicago 79, Antioch 58: At Gordon Tech, the Warhawks, the Class 3A Ridgewood sectional top seed, defeated the 16th-seeded Sequoits for the second time in five days and third time this season.

Aaron Simpson led North Chicago with 21 points, while Derrick Bryant and Marzhon Bryant added 12 and 11, respectively.

Antioch (5-25) received 13 points from Sam Green and 12 from Mike Siperko.

North Chicago advanced to Friday's 7:30 p.m. regional final against the winner of today's game between No. 8 Gordon Tech and No. 9 Lake View.
