Lombard Garden Club elects new officers

The newly elected officers for the Lombard Garden Club 2011-2012 club year are Joey Preins, ways and means; Joan Hilton, secretary; Marge Neely, third vice president; and co-presidents Rose Roth and Cher Herlache.

The Garden Club meets the fourth Friday of every month at the Lombard Commons Building, Grace Street and St. Charles Road in Lombard.

Sharing the responsibility of president for the 2100-12 club year of the Lombard Garden Club are Rose Roth and Cher Herlache. The first major project on their agenda is the 2011 Lilac Sale scheduled for May 5-7.

Marge Neely will continue to serve as third vice president, Joan Hilton comes on board as recording secretary. The ways and means chairwomen are Darlene Bartt and Joey Preins.

This is an exciting year for the garden club. The International Lilac Society Convention will be held at Lombard's Lilacia Park April 28-30. Marymae Meyer is a representative to the International Society and is coordinating the convention for Lombard.
