Shame on U.S. for supporting Mubarak

You describe Mubarak as a stalwart ally of this country. This ignores the many reports of ruthless treatment of political prisoners, torture and murder, quite apart from the lack of democracy and legal representation of the Egyptian citizens. Then we learn that he has been supported by money from our taxes to keep him in office, to the tune of $1.3 billion!

I say allies like these are not needed by this country, and I applaud and admire the Egyptian people for their brave stand against a tyrant. Pity we did not take a stand against those celebrated torturers, Bush-Cheney.
