One injured in Elk Grove Village fire
One person was injured during a condominium fire in Elk Grove Village Monday night, according to fire officials.
The Elk Grove Village Fire Department responded to an alarm at a three-story condominium complex about 8:15 p.m. Monday.
The first crews on the scene found the third floor filled with heavy smoke, said Batallion Chief James Denna.
The third floor of the 30- to 40-unit building on the 800 block of Leicester Road was evacuated during the fire, which was contained to one unit, he said.
One person was taken to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, Denna said.
Crews remained on the scene while the building ventilated late Monday night. A damage estimate was not available.
