Police: Aurora man had gun at O’Hare
An Aurora man was arrested at an O’Hare Airport security checkpoint Thursday for having a handgun in his carry-on bag, authorities said.
John W. Barnak, 57, faces two felony charges for unlawful possession of a weapon and carrying a firearm without a valid identification card.
Police said Barnak was going through security around 7 a.m. as he prepared to board a flight when a screener noticed a handgun in his bag through the X-ray system. The .25 semiautomatic Taurus handgun was unloaded, according to Chicago police.
