Naperville’s Ribfest announces more bands

A Chicago area band, Dot Dot Dot, will perform as the opening act for REO on July 1 at the Naperville Exchange Club’s Ribfest celebration.

The group formed in 2007 when members of two Chicago-based cover bands joined forces and since has performed more than 450 shows.

Ribfest organizers also announced Friday that a group of musicians performing as Heroes of Woodstock will perform from 3 to 7:30 p.m. on July 4 at the festival at Knoch Park. The group includes Country Joe McDonald, Canned Heat, Jefferson Starship performing the music of Jefferson Airplane and Big Brother and the Holding Co. performing the music of Janis Joplin.

Ribfest will run from July 1 through 4 and include 16 rib vendors from across the country and music on two stages. All proceeds go to combat child abuse and domestic violence.
