The skinny: Heading into the final weekend of Horizon League play, the Crusaders sit 1 game behind Cleveland State in a four-way race for the title. While it’s best to win the Horizon because the champ gets to host the second-round games and the semifinals (and the finals if still alive), it’s still good to be No. 2 because there’s a bye into the semis. In essence, Loyola can make Valpo’s path to the NCAA Tournament that much tougher with a win tonight. When these teams met Dec. 4 at Gentile Center, Valpo earned a 66-56 win thanks to a disastrous scoring drought. Loyola went from the 9:48 mark of the second half to the 0:56 mark without a basket, during which time Valpo turned a 49-48 edge into a 65-52 romp.
