You now have a more high-powered job search at the Daily Herald

The Daily Herald, owned by Arlington Heights-based Paddock Publications Inc., now is powered by Monster.

Job seekers and employers in the Chicago and suburban region will have access to more jobs, more talent and the most precise way to match them.

Monster completed its integration of HotJobs last week, creating a seamless site for employers and job seekers. The new Monster further strengthens Monster's position as the market leader in online job opportunities and global recruitment resources.

“We are extremely proud and pleased to be able to offer our recruiting advertisers an even better audience and recruitment products for their hiring needs,” said Kelly Bolyard, Paddock assistant vice president and director of digital development. “The Monster technology that we now have is robust and extremely accurate for job seekers and their job searching activities.”

In February 2010, Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Yahoo announced the sale of its help-wanted site, HotJobs, to rival New York-based Monster, for about $225 million. The deal closed in August 2010.

This is what the new Monster offers:

Ÿ More reach. Monster is expected to provide access to more than 46 million unique visitors globally. It has more than 25,000 new resumes added to Monster every day and it gives employers access to the world's most diverse marketplace of talent.

The additional reach provided by the new Monster further strengthens that power and potential of this technology.

Ÿ More opportunities. Monster is the foremost source of job postings for employers in 19 of the top 20 industries and in 45 out of the top 50 cities as compared to any other online career site.

The Daily Herald's relationship with Yahoo began in April 2007, when it joined a consortium of more than 260 newspapers nationwide that provided more online content for readers. The partnership also included a venture to sell help-wanted ads and integrate Yahoo's search technology across the site.
