Man rescued from burning Lake Bluff house

A Lake Bluff police officer rescued a man from his burning house Sunday morning,

Officers on patrol spotted a house on fire on the 0-99 block of East Woodland Road just before 4 a.m. Sunday and upon entry to the house, found a man unconscious inside, according to police.

The officers were able to rescue the man from the burning building and began administering CPR.

The victim was transported to Lake Forest Hospital and as of Sunday afternoon, was reported to be conscious and alert in stable condition, according to police.

The Lake Bluff Fire Department could not be reached Sunday night.

Fire units from Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Knollwood, North Chicago and Great Lakes assisted to put out the fire. Police officers from Lake Forest and Deerfield provided support during the fire.
