Joliet museum to get $25,000 grant

The Joliet Area Historical Museum is getting a $25,000 grant to improve audio-visual projects.

The (Joliet) Herald News reports that the money comes from Caesars Foundation and will be applied to the museum and the Route 66 Visitors Center. The grant will be presented Tuesday. Caesars Foundation is the parent company of Harrah's Joliet Casino and Hotel.

The money will be used to install audio-visual equipment in the auditorium. The museum will recognize the gift by naming the auditorium's stage the Caesars Foundation Stage.

The museum and visitors center saw an 11.5 percent increase in visitors from 2009 to 2010.
