EGV did admirable job clearing streets

I would like to disagree with the recent letter in Fencepost from Deb Jones of Round Lake concerning the snow removal in Elk Grove Village.

I am a resident of the west side of Elk Grove Village who lives on a secondary road. The storm was devastating to us all, especially to public services.

While shoveling our driveways, my neighbors and I were commenting on the fact that we didn't expect to see our street plowed until the next day as the snow drifts in Elk Grove reached up to 4 feet.

Weren't we pleasantly surprised when at approximately 3 p.m. on the day the storm ended — not the next day as expected — to see a village snowplow clearing our street.

In my opinion, and the opinions of my neighbors, Elk Grove Village did an admirable job in clearing the villages streets during the 3rd worst snowstorm in Chicago history.

I would like to point out to those who criticize; take a look at what the cities and villages in our area were up against and say thanks to those who worked tirelessly to clear our roads and make them safe for all of us to drive so soon.
