Motorcyclist killed in crash with Evansville bus
EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a truck and an Evansville school bus that had 30 students on board.
The Vanderburgh County sheriff's department says the motorcycle hit the rear of a pickup truck that had slowed down to turn and then the side of the school bus Thursday afternoon. Thirty-eight-year-old Jamie Jones of Evansville was pronounced dead at the scene.
Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. spokeswoman Marsha Jackson says none of the Reitz High School students on the bus were hurt.
The Evansville Courier & Press reports that the students were led to the lobby of a nearby motel then were taken home by another bus or picked up by their parents.
