The skinny: The Wildcats’ bid for the program’s second .500 Big Ten record since 1968 remains alive, though they need to muster the energy for their second game in 48 hours. At least NU has a good idea of how to deal with Indiana’s defense. The Wildcats won 93-81 on Jan. 9 — their best output in a Big Ten game since 1994 — as they built a 24-point lead with 11 minutes to go before the Hoosiers made a run. Indiana has improved significantly since that game. They’re 3-1 at home over the last five weeks, which includes Tom Crean’s first 2 wins at IU over nationally ranked opponents (Illinois and Minnesota).
