Wisconsin Democrats, Walker don't meet
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin Assembly Democrats are getting plenty of love from protesters, but it doesn't look like they're going to sit down with Gov. Scott Walker soon.
Assembly Democrats emerged from a meeting in the state Capitol and marched through hundreds of protesters to Walker's office. People hugged them and chanted "thank you."
Democrats waited alone in Walker's outer office — his receptionist retreated to the inner office — until the governor's spokesman came out.
The Democrats demanded a meeting with Walker, saying it's time to end the chaos. Walker's spokesman said the governor's scheduler would get back to Barca and then returned to the inner office.
Protesters have jammed the Capitol for days to voice opposition to a Walker bill that would end most collective bargaining rights for state workers.
