New ambulance for Gurnee
Warren-Waukegan Fire Protection District this week announced the contribution of a taxpayer-funded ambulance to the Gurnee Fire Department. “This is a milestone achievement and we are proud to stand alongside the Gurnee Fire Department to boost its already quality service,” Warren-Waukegan board President Phillip DeRuntz said. Warren-Waukegan contracts for ambulance and fire service from Gurnee. Warren-Waukegan, a local taxing agency, spans about 32 square miles from Waukegan on the east to Route 45 on the west. Warren-Waukegan levies taxes so it can obtain fire and ambulance service from Gurnee for unincorporated areas. The new ambulance paid for by Warren-Waukegan will replace a 1998 model.
