City still taking entries for newsletter contest
The City of Naperville is continuing to accept entries for its resident newsletter renaming and redesign contest. Entries will be accepted through Tuesday, March 1.
The newsletter previously known as Bridges is no longer being mailed four times per year to homes and businesses. Starting in May, the newsletter will transition to a one-page insert that is included in residents and businesses' monthly utility bills. For e-Bill customers, an electronic copy will be sent to them at the e-mail address they have provided to the city and will continue to be posted on the city's website.
In recognition of this change, the city has called on residents to create a new nameplate and provide a new name for the newsletter. People of all ages and artistic abilities are encouraged to submit a name and corresponding nameplate that visually describes the concept of the newsletter, which is keeping the community connected by sharing important city news, events and initiatives and providing access and transparency to government processes.
Names and nameplates may be designed by hand using any medium (e.g. crayons, markers, colored pencils) or with the assistance of electronic design software. To enter the contest, visit www.naperville.il.us/bridges.aspx to download an entry form. All completed forms should be e-mailed to houlihank@naperville.il.us; hand-delivered to Community Relations Specialist Kate Houlihan at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.; or mailed to City of Naperville, Attn: Kate Houlihan, 400 S. Eagle St., Naperville, IL 60540.
Individuals submitting entries created with electronic design software are asked to please e-mail the source file and portable document format (.pdf) of the design to houlihank@naperville.il.us. Complete contest rules are available at www.naperville.il.us/bridges.aspx. All submitted nameplates should be the original work of the artist.
All entries are due by Tuesday, March 1. From March 7-16, members of the public are invited to view and vote for their favorite logo at www.naperville.il.us/bridges.aspx. Mayor A. George Pradel and City Council members will select a winning name/nameplate from the 10 that receive the most online votes. The winning artist will be notified by Mayor Pradel and be publicly recognized at a future City Council meeting.
