Tip of the hat to Elgin plowers
I like to tip my hat when I know someone has done a good job and deserves my positive recognition.
I am pleased to tip my hat to all of the City of Elgin personnel responsible for the magnificent response to our recent snowstorm.
Obviously, this storm was way out of proportion to anything we have experienced in recent years and it offered truly unique challenges. Fortunately, we had ample warning, but the planning and preparation paid off. I stayed off the streets Wednesday but I was out Thursday and I was amazed. The streets were cleared, the snow piled up and we were back in business as usual.
It is nice to know our tax dollars are paying for professionally delivered services. Again, I tip my hat and say thank you.
