CYT to perform “High School Musical Jr!”

Students ages 8-18 of CYT Chicago (Lake County) proudly present “High School Musical Jr!” this week at the College of Lake County.

Disney Channel’s smash hit musical comes to life on stage as the audience joins the Wildcats along with Ryan, Sharpay, Troy, Gabriella, Chad and Ryan for a romp through East High. Hoops star Troy and brainy Gabriella decide to audition for the upcoming musical and turn their world and their school upside down. They learn to follow their dreams and that friends have to look out for each other.

An overnight sensation, “High School Musical Jr!” features fun tunes, incredible dance moves and a whole lot of fun. The score includes hits “Bop to the Top,” “Get’cha Head in the Game,” “What I’ve Been Looking For” and many more!

The show runs about two hours with one intermission. It is recommended for all ages.

Performances are at 9:30 and 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16; 9:30 and 11:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17; 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18; 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, and Sunday, Feb. 20. The show will be performed at CLC’s James Lumber Center, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake.

Christian Youth Theater is a nonprofit, educational theater arts program for students ages 4-18 in the Aurora, Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kenosha, Lake, McHenry, Oak Park, and Rockford metro areas and has about 6,000 students per year.
