Music events: Ronnie Baker Brooks brings the blues

Ronnie Baker Brooks, son of blues legend Lonnie Brooks, will bring his distinctive brand of urban blues to the 'burbs this weekend. Ronnie Baker Brooks has earned acclaim for adding elements of funk, soul and even hip-hop to his traditional blues guitar attack. 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Clearwater Theater, 96 W. Main St., West Dundee. $15. Go to clearwatertheater.com.

Metal/punk pioneers

Motorhead, the seemingly indefatigable British band that was among the first to incorporate the speed and attitude of punk rock into heavy metal, is back with a new record, “The World Is Yours.” The band formed in the mid-1970s, and even after more than 35 years, bassist/lead singer Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister and his mates continue to blow the roof off the joints they play. 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Congress Theater, 2135 N. Milwaukee, Chicago. $25. Go to congresschicago.com.

Cash bash

Lake County native Scott Lucas and his band The Married Men will be part of a weekend celebration in honor of the late, great Johnny Cash's birthday. Other bands taking part include Bruce Lamont and the Hoyle Brothers. Should be a concert that would do the Man in Black proud. 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee, Chicago. $8. Go to doubledoor.com.
