Blood drive Wednesday in Buffalo Grove

The Senior Class Board of Buffalo Grove High School will host its annual Blood Drive under the auspices of LifeSource Blood Services from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, in the school gymnasium. Buffalo Grove High School is located at the corner of Arlington Heights and Dundee Roads in Buffalo Grove. The community is invited to join students, staff and parents. The process takes a total of about 45 minutes, from registration to refreshments. Potential donors ages 16-80 must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. A mini-physical is part of the procedure, in which a nurse will take the pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and test hemoglobin levels. A photo ID is required. Donors should eat and arrive well-hydrated. Donors will receive a T-shirt (while supplies last) bearing the slogan: “Learning to Save Lives Is Easier Than You Think.” To make an appointment, call (847) 718-4000 during regular school hours.
