Onstage: 'Flanagan's Wake' returns

Cry 'til you laugh

Copley Theatre revives “Flanagan's Wake,” the interactive comedy in which residents of a fictional Irish village send off a favorite son with a toast, or 20. ‘Love Hurts ... A Lot!'

Bikerman (Jim Jarvis) and the Jewish Avenger (Scott Woldman) pull no punches in “Love Hurts ... a Lot!” their adults-only comedy examining dating and romance. They bring their show to the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre for one, seasonally suitable performance.

‘Working' returns

“Working,” the musical inspired by Studs Terkel's book and first staged at the Goodman Theatre more than 30 years ago, returns to the city that works in a new adaptation by Stephen Schwartz who penned the original with Nina Faso. Chicago favorites E. Faye Butler, Barbara Robertson and Gene Weygandt star in the Broadway in Chicago premiere.
