Fire releases 2011 MLS schedule

The Fire released its full 2011 season schedule Thursday, a lineup that includes 11 nationally televised games.

The Fire will play each MLS team twice, once at home and once on the road, for a total of 34 games. The Los Angeles Galaxy — with Landon Donovan, David Beckham and Juan Pablo Angel — is scheduled to play at Toyota Park on April 17. The New York Red Bulls bring Rafael Marquez and Thierry Henry to Bridgeview on June 26.

Of the 34 games, 27 will be played on weekends.

As previously announced team’s season opener is March 19 at FC Dallas. The home opener is March 26 against Sporting Kansas City.

The schedule released Thursday is only for MLS games and does not include any friendlies the team might add or the U.S. Open Cup games.
