Buffalo Grove H.S. Expressions to preview its competition show

Buffalo Grove High School’s Expressions Show Choir will present its 2011 competition Preview Performance 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, in the Miller Theatre, 1100 Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove.

The Expressions competed in a regional competition at the Mt. Zion Invitational in Decatur in January, and placed Best in Vocal Performance and First Runner Up in Overall Performance. Their next competition will be at the DeKalb Show Choir Invitational in Auburn, Ind., Feb. 13.

On March 5, they will compete in the Chicagoland Showcase at Hersey High School, in Arlington Heights. Show Choir Nationals will be held in Nashville, Tenn., March 24-26 and the Expressions will perform on the Grand Ole Opry Stage.

The Expressions is a mixed show choir comprised of 38 singer-dancers, 12 band members and four crew members, directed by Debora Utley and choreographed by Randy Sage. For the Preview Performance, a donation is requested of $3 for adults and $1 for students.
