Chicago Symphony Orchestra to honor Roger Ebert
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra plans a tribute to veteran film critic Roger Ebert.
The orchestra has scheduled "A Tribute to Roger Ebert" for Feb. 25. The evening will include performances of music from favorite Ebert films including "Casablanca," ''The Third Man," ''2001: A Space Odyssey," and "Gone with the Wind."
There also will be music from film composers favored by the Pulitzer Prize-winning critic for the Chicago Sun-Times. Ebert recently returned to television with a segment on "Ebert Presents at the Movies."
Daily Herald Film Critic Dann Gire is a contributing critic and correspondent on Ebert's new nationally syndicated movie and current events show, “Ebert Presents At the Movies.” The show airs at 8:30 p.m. Fridays on WTTW.
