Village to require contractors to be registered

The Lombard Village Board passed an ordinance at its last board of trustees meeting requiring all contractors performing work in the village of Lombard to be registered, effective Feb. 14.

The registration requirement is to ensure that contractors working within the village limits meet the standard requirements and can provide high-quality service to residents and business owners.

Depending on the type of contractor, specific documents are required to be supplied with the completed application. The registration must be renewed annually.

The registration fee for contractors is $75 per calendar year, or $37.50 after July 1.

The contractor registration application for license and insurance requirements may be picked up at the lower level front counter of the village hall or printed off the city's website, www.villageoflombard.org.
