New hospital good for Sun City

As residents of Sun City Huntley for more than six years, we most definitely support Centegra’s expansion and application for a new hospital in Huntley, adjoining their already-active Immediate Care Center, which we have been visiting frequently, and the Healthbridge Fitness Center.

Expansion of the site on Haligus Road is a perfect fit on a desirable location serving a growing Huntley community and environs. Consider the nearby, rezoned land parcels for residential development ready to kick off as the economy improves. Also, consider nearby infrastructure improvements such as the widening of Illinois Route 47 and complete interchange at Route 47 and I-90.

The very proactive Huntley village board supports Centegra’s expansion plans. Right now, the nearest hospitals to Sun City are Centegra Woodstock and Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Consideration should be given especially to the population base of nearly 9,000 people at age-restricted Sun City with most residents older than 60 and require more frequent and often immediate medical care.
