Scouting report: Loyola @ Detroit

Loyola (13-10, 4-8) at Detroit (12-12, 6-6)

When: 1 p.m. at Calihan Hall

Radio: WAUR 930-AM, WNTD 950-AM, WWCA 1270-AM

The skinny: If the Ramblers still hope to snag a home game for the Horizon League tournament's opening round, they need to get this win. The third through sixth seeds get those games, and the eighth-place Ramblers can pull within a game of the seventh-place Titans today. Detroit knocked off Loyola 83-71 on Jan. 6 at Gentile Center as the Titans shot 64 percent on 3-pointers and won the boards by 11. Loyola did much better on the boards Thursday night at Wright State, but the team's 16 offensive rebounds led to just 8 second-chance points in a 76-63 loss. While Ben Averkamp (17 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks) against WSU, Geoff McCammon's hot streak ended as he made just 4 of 16 shots overall and 2 of 8 from beyond the arc.
