Palatine construction zone a real eyesore

The road construction project in downtown Palatine has baffled me from the beginning. The indecisiveness, the delays, the poor planning has had me up in arms from the onset.

Not having it finished before the beginning of the winter season was ridiculous, but more amazing is that after making the decision to put the project on hold until spring, Palatine did not see fit to at least make it as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as possible.

Instead as one heads into the heart of the downtown, there on the corner of Plum Grove Road and Palatine roads is a conglomeration of equipment lain about helter-skelter, and then for the piece de resistance, there on the outer most corner of the mess stands a port-o-potty.

Lovely job Palatine, we get to see it, twice a day for some of us, all winter long. How about those just passing through? Nice welcome sign, Palatine.
