Huntley Cook of the Week is much more

I enjoyed reading the Jan. 26 “Cook of the Week” column that featured Carol Ziwiski. I have known Carol for quite a few years, and she is a true gem.

About 20 years ago, our church became a PADS site. My husband and I were on the startup committee and Carol volunteered to coordinate and cook the meals that were provided.

The meals she planned and prepared were amazing, and were very much enjoyed and appreciated by the guests. They were worthy of being served at any fine restaurant or dinner party, and to me, that was an indication of her respect for the recipients of the meals.

In addition to her impressive culinary talents, Carol was also very modest. It seems that the combination of those two qualities (talent and modesty) is sometimes hard to find, but it is something that makes Carol a truly special person.
