Anderson files as Prospect Heights write-in candidate
Gerald Anderson, the longtime alderman for Prospect Heights' 4th Ward, will run for re-election as a write-in candidate.
Anderson was ruled off the ballot last month by the city's electoral board because he failed to number the sheets of signatures on his nominating petitions.
Anderson was elected to the council in 1997 and then won a write-in contest for mayor in 1999 after being similarly dismissed from a ballot. That election was overturned when the courts rejected some of his votes.
