Chris Clark, of Downers Grove, says his dogs Gus (left) and Dakota (right) love the snow and almost refuse to come inside. Gus is a two year old Catahoula and Shepherd mix and Dakota is a nine year old German Shepherd, Husky, Chow, and Samoyed mix. They were running through snow drifts up to four feet deep.
Jeff Micek of Schuamburg assess the situation. He is standing between our two vehicles in our garage in Schaumburg wearing the snowsuit he has not worn in 9 years. (looks pretty good huh). He has to dig out with the shovel several feet behind his vehicle to get to the snow blower that is stored in front of his vehicle in the garage. The snow was clear after about 3 or 4 hours of his hard labor, says his wife, Susan.

Luke Simmons of Bartlett says: Our front storm door was covered with snow up to about 20 inches. The bottom of the door is nearly 20 inches above ground level. Our garage door had about forty inches packed against it when I opened it to begin clearing the snow. Three people from our neighborhood came over and removed the snow from our driveway and sidewalk with two large snow blowers, and shovels. They continued going to other homes in the neighborhood doing the same thing.
